11/26/2023 0 Comments Sunless sea gods![]() Since the light of Judgements (Suns like our own) sets and enforces natural laws, Queen Vicky has fundamental control over everywhere the Clockwork Sun’s light reaches (Namely, the region of Albion). To get here, Queen Victoria and her family of mutants basically ramped the city of London off of a place called the Avid Horizon, which you can visit in London’s map, Albion. To add to this, your locomotive is floating around in a place called the High Wilderness, which is effectively Outer Space. ![]() If you have any FL lore you have questions about I'm happy to help, but little of it is necessary to understand Sunless Skies. The rest of the lore you'll have to find out from looking into the game. You come into it a ways after this has all happened London is now floating in mid-air, Queen Victoria is bending time and space using mined time, etc. They took it out into space and murdered a sun they found there, then set up the Clockwork Sun in its place-and Victoria became a god. Queen Victoria and London languished for a bit before a cabal of powerful people managed to build their own mechanical sun, the Clockwork Sun. UNFORTUNATELY, it traded the life of Albert, Prince Consort, for the city of London. It's looking for a perfect love story that will make the sun not want to die. In the meantime, this messenger-the Bazaar, which is a giant space crab-started buying human cities with the help of the Masters-which are giant space bats-and bringing them below the earth to a secret cavern where light could not reach. A messenger of our sun was sent to a different sun to pledge our sun's love for it-unfortunately, it got a bad response, so it hid for a bit on Earth, afraid that if it brought a rejection back to our sun it'd kill itself. Basically, in the FL universe the stars themselves are gods called the Judgments, which radiate their law out into the world as light (FL is very coy about this stuff but Sunless Skies just outright confirms a lot of it).
